Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have begun planning for a tiny addition to their family. One of Carey’s assistants called L.A.’s Petit Tresor yesterday to talk about planning a nursery. The assistant ordered fabric swatches and asked if their designers would be able to work with Mariah’s favorite butterfly theme. /DN 24

Tony Award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur was eliminated Tuesday from "Dancing With the Stars." The final three remaining stars, Jason Taylor, Kristi Yamaguchi and Cristian de la Fuente, will do their last dances Monday, and one will be named season champ on Tuesday. /AP

Jennifer Lopez announced Wednesday that she'll host and help coordinate the third Noche de Ninos benefit gala. This year's party, to be held Oct. 11 at the Nokia Center, will feature performances by Lopez, Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and others. Lopez, who was Noche de Ninos' first honoree in 2004, said her twin son and daughter inspired her to get more involved. /AP

Britney Spears was involved in a car accident yesterday, her second collision in a little over a month. Spears was at a red light on Sunset Blvd. when she saw cars moving in a left-turn lane and thought she had a green light, too. Spears then hit the gas and slammed into a red Ford Explorer, x17online reported. Spears was reportedly texting while driving. /DN 12

Drew Barrymore was the victim of a hit-and-run collision on a West Hollywood street Monday morning. Barrymore, who wasn’t injured, followed the driver who smashed into her vehicle long enough to get the license plate number and cops are now trying to identify the person. /DN 10

Not On Our Watch, a non-profit founded by Don Cheadle, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon and others has given international aid group Save the Children $250,000 to provide for children and families affected by Cyclone Nargis in Burma. /USAT 1D

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and sons Maddox and Pax were photographed enjoying a ride on mogul Paul Allen’s boat yesterday in Monaco. /DN 5

Christie Brinkley had some harsh words for Barbara Walters yesterday. Brinkley told “The Insider” last night that she was surprised to learn about Walter’s affair with a married man and “didn’t think intelligent women did that.” /NYP 12

Kelly Rowan’s ex fiancé David Thompson has a habit of dumping his babies’ mamas. Thompson, who broke up with Rowan around the time she gave birth to their baby girl in April, actually left his second wife when she was pregnant. /DN 24

Star Jones’ estranged hubby Al Reynolds vented on is MySpace page yesterday about reports he was a freeloading spouse and insisted his failed marriage wasn’t a sham. /DN 22

Christina Aguilera ranks eighth on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list for making “pregnancy seem hot” and for giving average-looking men hope that they “can wind up with beautiful women,” according to editorial director James Kaminsky. Sean Combs, who is Ciroc vodka’s celebrity endorser, had a waitress fetch him Malibu and rum during a party at Home the other night while he sat with a bottle of Ciroc in front of him. A rep for Combs says he loves Ciroc and didn’t order anything else that night. /NYP 14

Tom Cruise, Donald Trump, Billy Crystal, Kirk and Michael Douglas and a slew of other stars kicked off Israel’s 60th anniversary celebration yesterday with video tributes airing on screens in Times Square. /DN 12

Veteran TV and film star James Garner was hospitalized Friday after suffering a mild stroke at his home last week, his spokeswoman said yesterday. The “Maverick” star is doing well and should be going home soon. /DN 4

Larry Levine, the recording engineer who helped Phil Spector re-invent rock 'n' roll music with his "Wall of Sound" technique and won a Grammy for his work with Herb Alpert, died on his 80th birthday, his family said Tuesday. Levine's wife, Lyn, said he died at his Encino home on May 8. He had suffered from severe emphysema, according to relatives. /AP

An unexplained illness forced the postponement yesterday the start of ex New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey and Dins Matos McGreevey’s court fight over alimony. The case was scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. today. /DN 4

Law enforcement sources said yesterday that New Jersey mom Mindy Jordan was climbing from one balcony to another when she plunged to her death on a cruise ship earlier this week. Her family is calling the account “crazy.” /NYP 7
